Party venues in your region – which is the best? (North East)

Arranging a party is a big deal. Whether it’s for a group of friends or for the office party, you’ve been given the duty of finding the best venue to keep everyone happy. It’s a big ask, but if you get it right, you’ll definitely be the top best friend/co-worker/sibling for a good few weeks.

In this series, we’re going all around the nation to find the best party venues in the region. Today, we’re exploring the North East! Don’t bother with a coat, that’s not how we party here in the North — pick your favourite from your collection of party dresses and let’s go!

Revolution — Newcastle

If you’re looking for a venue that hosts it all, Revolution in Newcastle is the way to go. They offer an array of party packages, from birthdays, hen parties, stag dos, office parties, to just good old-fashioned parties with friends.

With a welcome reception, luxury bottle service, and food options available, Revolution really does cover all the bases. They even offer bar tab options and team building events, so you now know where you next office party has to be!

Must-try: This venue is renowned for its fantastic cocktails, so you really can’t leave without trying one or five of their best. From a classic Long Island Iced Tea to beautiful creations such as the Butterfly Effect, you’ll be spoilt for choice. For the designated drivers, Revolution has you covered with a range of 0% alcohol cocktails that are just as delicious as their boozy counterparts: try out the Smooth Talker, or the aptly named Designated Driver.

Customer reviews: Sitting pretty at an impressive 4/5 on Trip Advisor, customers rave about the food, the cocktails, and the staff. In fact, scroll through the review and you’ll be hard pressed to find a review that doesn’t mention a staff member by name to praise. Always a good sign!

Quayside Exchange — Sunderland

For something with a touch of elegance, explore the many party options offered by the Quayside Exchange in Sunderland. They cater to all kinds of events, including private parties and proms.

The Quayside Exchange is housed within a gorgeous Grade II listed building, with two room options to choose from. The Grand Room is their larger space, with huge Georgian windows offering amazing views of the River Wear. With two private bars in the suite, this one would be great for office parties or larger celebrations.

The second room is called The Vaulted Suite and gives a trio of alcoves and a private bar for a more intimate event. Plus, you can head out to the heated terrace for some peace and riverside views.

Then again, if you know you and your friends want to let your hair down, ask about The Tempest Bar. It was refurbished in 2017, so it has a fantastic, modern feel and so many contemporary features. From hog roasts to DJ hire, you’re sure to get your party off on the right foot here!

York’s Chocolate Story-York

Want your party to stand out from the crowd? For a quirky venue that still boasts quality service and fantastic party resources, take a look at York’s Chocolate Story. The three-story venue allows guests to hire out the Factory Zone, and this comes with a private drinks service as standard.

Explore the Chocolate Story with a private evening tour, as well as a number of other activities that can be tailored to suit your guests.
