We always wanted to get experience thrill. So what could be the places where we can just visit, relax or for something else. After searching on the internet for the best places in India, we have finally decided the adventurous place named Rishikesh. Rishikesh is located in the foothills of the mighty Himalayas which is the ultimate destination that calls for escapade and screams for the thrill. The city is associated with adventure & spirituality at the same time making it a great place for sorts of folks as well as ages as well. This beautiful place is located in the Uttarakhand state of northern India.
Along the internet flowing with pictures of Rishikesh with crowded temples on one hand and on the other with youngsters in orange safety jackets bouncing on the waves in rafting boats. One cannot imagine that this magnetic city to be anything other than a couple of temples occupied with bakhts & sadhus lined by the shore with views of twirling & twisting water rapids taking rafters up in the air & down in the water creating white splashes in the far distance.
Undoubtedly, Rishikesh is a great spot for a lot of wonderful activities even for the hydrophobic as well as the atheists. It is being the number one spot for white water rafting, entices rafters from all over to experience this thrilling sport. Besides, one may experience river crossing, cliff jumping, rock climbing, rappelling, zip lining, and bungee jumping at Rishikesh. One most interesting and popular activities among youngsters are camping. Camping is a great way to interact with nature & connect with the charismatic charm of the Himalayas.
After reaching Rishikesh, we were taken to our camps. After taking some snacks then we were taken for rafting. My heart started to beat faster with fear & excitement as I saw the white rapids. We were provided jackets to wear and told to go on Boat. Rafting was not just a thrilling experience but one that will change you forever. After rafting, we went for cliff jumping & rock climbing. These sorts of activities need you to use your courage & core strength. Then we were asked to climb a high rock & were supposed to make a free fall in the river. I succeeded to climb the rock but opted out for the jump. Cliff jumping needs one to jump form a 30 feet high cliff. However this sports seems interesting enough to compel anyone to try it, my acrophobia stopped me. Now we returned to our camp & enjoyed music & games by the campfire.
I can say now, this was my one of the most amazing holidays, Rishikesh gave me the much-needed break from the hustles & bustles of the city as well as hectic job schedules. The serenity of the Ganga, the awe-inspiring backdrop of the Himalayas, the tasty Prasad from the temples & most of all happy youngsters make Rishikesh an amazing holiday spot.
